This Roasted Chickpeas is an easy snack sold all over South India and is popularly known as 'Uppu Kadalai' in Tamil Nadu. U might have seen it in shops but this can be done at home in 12 - 15 mins. Its rich in Protein. When this Chickpeas is dry-roasted without salt and turmeric powder, U get 'Pori Kadalai'(correctly called) or 'Dalia Dal' or 'Roasted yellow Gram'. Roasted Chickpeas
Ingredients:
100 gms Good Black Channadal or Black Chickpeas
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
1.Heat a heavy or thick bottomed kadai. Continously dry-roast Chickpeas adding turmeric powder and salt on low flame.After 6 - 7 mins of roasting U will see cracks on chickpeas.
2.Keep on stirring for 6 -8 mins more on low flame to get it done.Allow it to cool and serve it anytime as snack.
