Lemon Spicy Sev

Karasev or Spicysev is a well-known teatime snack of South-India.Try this lemon-flavored Sev at home for a change and see Ur family enjoy munching this flavored snack.U can try this recipe with buttermilk,Yoghurt, Dessicated coconut,tomato Puree or using dried herbs like sage,rosemary or with Orange or pineapple flavored essence.Similarly U can try pakora, Murukku with theses flavors.Try it at home and Enjoy Ur Teatime with easy recipes!.BonAppetit!.

Lemon Spicy Sev - Spicy deep-fried lemon-flavored besanflour snack
Ingredients
    1 cup besanflour(kadalai maavu)
    1/4 cup rice flour or refined flour
    2 tsp lemon juice
    1/4 tsp lemon flavor or essence
    2 tbsp butter
    1/2 tsp chilli powder
    1/4 tsp asafoetida powder
    1 tsp black sesame seeds
    1/4 tsp salt or needed
    300 ml refined oil
    1/4 cup or needed lukewarm water
Directions:
    1.Mix all the ingredients except oil to make a smooth or soft and fine dough.
    2.Divide the dough into half-orange sized balls.
    3.Heat 300ml oil in a kadai.Press the dough in Murukku Apparatus with a round-hole mould.Use ur fingers to make it 2 inches long sev and deep-fry it till golden brown on both sides.
    4.Serve hot at teatime or store in an airtight container.

Crunchy and spicy snack .. favorite.

No problem about the suggestion, they are always welcome. I have been going back and forth on the linky thing and we have few things like building a website going on right now and not sure how linky would work with that. My frnd's mom adds lemon juice in muruuku. It gives a nice flavor & taste. hope this would also be the same :)
