Chicken Podimas

You must be familiar with Fish Puttu(Shredded Fish Stirfry) a well known South Indian Fish preparation in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.Check out the amazing taste and the result of this famous dish - when done with shredded boiled Chicken pieces.The stunning flavors and the appetizing taste of this great looking dish will have ur guests asking for it more.So light-spiced it is so that U can have it alone or with Rice and Sambar or Kara(Vathal) Kuzhambu.U can even add Olive oil sauteed Spinach to make it healthier.Try this dish at home and enjoy Ur Meal!.Bon Appetit!.

Chicken Podimas(Chicken Stir Fry) - Cooked chicken shredded and sauteed with spices


    200 gms boneless Chicken (Cleaned and cooked in water with turmeric powder and salt)
    10 cashews
    1 onion - chopped fine
    2 chopped green chillies
    1 tsp mustard seeds
    1/4 tsp Saunf
    3  whole red chillies
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
    1 tsp fresh garlic cloves-chopped
    1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    3 tbsp grated coconut
    few chopped coriander leaves
    few chopped curry leaves
    1/2 tsp salt + 1/4 tsp salt
    2 tsp refined oil


    1.Cook the chicken with turmeric powder and water and shredd the chicken  pieces.
    2.Roast the cashews in oil first and take them out.
    3.In this remaining oil saute mustard seeds,cumin seeds,Saunf,whole red chilies,ginger-garlic paste,garlic pieces,onions,Chopped green chillies,chopped curry and coriander leaves.
    4.Add  the shredded chicken,turmeric powder and salt and mix well.
    5.Add grated coconut and roasted cashews and mix well.
    6.Serve this Chicken  Podimas hot alone or with Sambar and Rice.
