Chilli Fish

Chilli Fish is not so popular as its Chicken Counterpart - which is still a huge hit in India.This delicious dish will create a great impression on ur Guests, if served in family get-togethers.Those who love it or crazy about Chinese food can try this fish to accompany plain rice or chinese fried Rice or Plain Noodles.Give it a try.U may need to allocate 20 mins of ur time for preparing this dish.This serves 3-4 no.s.Bon Appetit!.Similarly U can try Chilli Prawns this way.
Strict Vegetarians can try  varieties with this recipe eg. with Soya Chunks,Cauliflower florets,Mushrooms, Paneer Cubes,Tofu cubes,Bread pieces,Idli pieces and Chapati pieces.

Chilli Fish - Chinese Fish preparation


3 Seer Fish pieces(cut into 1 inch cubes)
a pinch of Ajinomoto
1 tsp White Pepper Powder
1/2 tsp. Sugar
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Tomato-garlic sauce
1 tbsp Green chilli sauce
1 Onion - sliced big(optional)
1 small Cherry Tomato(sliced thin)-(optional)
2 tbsp Corn Flour
2 tbsp powdered Cornflakes
1  Egg
2  Green Chilies
3 tbsp chopped Green bell pepper
2 tbsp chopped Spring onion
4 cloves Garlic
1 cm size Ginger (grated)
100 ml Refined oil for deep-frying
1/2 tsp Salt- to taste


    1.Marinate the fish pieces(one inch cubes) in 1 tbsp Soy sauce,1/4 tsp salt,egg,powdered cornflakes and 1 tbsp cornflour for 20 mins.
    2.Deep fry chicken in hot oil till light brown on sides.
    3.Heat 1 tbsp refined oil in a frying pan. Add chopped garlic,sliced Onion,chopped green chilies,sliced cherry tomato(optional) and capsicum slices.Toss it 3-4 times.
    4.Add 50ml of chicken stock or water.Bring it to a boil.Add ajinomoto,sugar,white pepper powder,1/4 tsp salt,rest of the Soya sauce and tomato-garlic sauce.
    5.Add the remaining cornflour- dissolving it in water.Stir continuously.
    6.Add deep-fried fish pieces and stir it for 2 mins so that the sauce spreads evenly with the fish pieces  and the fish pieces shd not get too wet or soggy.
    7.Garnish with chopped spring onions and green chilies julienne.This will turn out amazingly Yumm!.

1.U can stop with 2 steps if u want this as fry .This will go with Rice with Sambar,Rasam and Yoghurt.
2.I have added cherry tomato slices,onion slices and tomato-garlic sauce to increase the gravy and this will go great with plain rice and plain noodles.If u try this fish for Fried rice, then u can try this recipe (avoiding these three ingredients) as semi-dry.
