Raw Banana Poriyal (Stir Fry)

Popular side dish of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. This can be prepared in 20 mins cooking-time.Best taken with rice and sambar or Kara Kuzhambu or indian breads.Try this at home and enjoy!.

Raw Banana Poriyal (Stir Fry) - Raw Banana pieces stir-fried with spices

Ingredients:

2 Raw Banana - Peeled and chopped into bite sized pieces(immediately put this in water -otherwise this will
turn colour)
3 tbsp grated coconut
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp split uraddal-skinless
3 whole red chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric powder(optional)
3 tbsp shallots(red onions)-chopped fine
few curry leaves
few coriander leaves
1 1/2 tsp salt-to taste
2 tsp refined oil
250ml water

Directions :

    1.Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds,uraddal, chopped onions,Whole red chillies and curry leaves, one-by-one,and saute for 2-3mins.
    2.Add raw banana pieces,turmeric powder,coriander leaves,salt and water.Let it cook till the raw banana
pieces become tender(for 10 mins) on medium flame,stirring at-times.
    3.Add the grated coconut and mix this well for 2-3 mins or till water runs dry on low flame.Turn off the flame.
    4.Serve this tasty Raw Banana Poriyal(Stir Fry) hot with rice,sambar,Kara Kuzhambu or indian breads.
