I'm happy to tell U that this is my 500th Post (not Recipewise). I wish to celebrate this Occasion with this Khus-Khus Kheer (Milk Dessert) which can be done and served in 15 mins cooking time.This recipe can be tried with Basmati Rice,wheat granules,Rice flakes,Sago pearls, Vermicelli, Pasta, Oats flakes,Wheat flakes,Semolina,Adai pradhaman, Lentils like Turdal,Gramdal, Uraddal, Yellow Moongdal, Green Moongdal, Sesame seeds, Cucumber seeds, Bread pieces, Fruits and Grated Veg of ur choice. Otherwise, U can do it with ghee-roasted poppy seeds, ghee-roasted and basmati rice or pressure-cooked basmati rice.This minimizes the cooking time and maximizes the taste and texture of this Milk Dessert. Soaked Saffron strands or crushed pista (optional) - 2 tbsp can also be added in step: 3 to add richness,taste and flavor to the Dessert. Enjoy Ur Teatime!. Bon Appetit!.
Khus-khus Kheer - Milk Dessert done with ghee-roasted khus-khus and basmati rice
Ingredients
1/3 cup ghee-roasted poppy seeds - soaked in milk
pressure-cooked basmati rice - 1/2 cup
400ml Boiled milk
100 gms sugar
2 tbsp almond flakes
1 tbsp ghee
4 crushed cardamoms
few saffron strands - optional
Directions:
1.Heat ghee in sauce-pan and roast the poppy seeds for 2 mins on medium flame.Soak it in 1/2 cup boiled milk.Keep it aside for an hour.
2.Meanwhile, pressure-cook the basmati rice with required water upto 2 whistles. Mash it slightly.
3.Take the pressure-cooked basmati rice in a sauce pan and add 200 ml milk, crushed cardamom and stir-cook for 2-3 mins.
4.Dissolve sugar in 100 ml boiled Milk and add it to the basmati rice pan and Stir-cook it for 2 more mins on good flame.
5.Add soaked Poppy Seeds, grated almonds-soaked. Stir it for a min more on good flame.Turn off the flame after doing it for 7 mins on medium flame.
6.Pour this kheer into 4 Dessert Bowls and Top it with few soaked Saffron Strands.
7.Serve it hot or chilled to the guests.That's all!.
