Thick Uraddal Chutney - a Microwave Recipe

This Chutney is prepared using pepper corns and roasted uraddal and is given here as healthy recipe of the Day.Red chillies are not added but can do it with red chillies too.Very tasty chutney to go with Idli, Dosa, Chapati,evening Indian snacks,etc.It can be packed for Lunch or long travel with tamarind and lemon rice along with boiled egg slices and will stay good for long - say for abt 10 hours if properly used.Those who doesnot own M/W Oven can try it dry-roasting it for two mins - stirring it.and do the same ingredients grinding and seasoning.Try it once.U will see ur family asking for more and enjoy!. Bon Appetit!.

Thick Uraddal Chutney( a Microwave Recipe)-Chutney done with Uraddal,small onion and grated coconut
Ingredients:
1/2 cup urad dal-split or whole
5 sambar onions
1 big garlic clove
1 cm ginger pieces
1/2 tsp tamarind paste or 2 tsp lemon juice
4-5 pepper corns
1/4 tsp salt-to taste
2 tbsp grated coconut(optional)
2 tsp + 2 tsp refined oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
few curry leaves
150 ml water

Directions

1.Take a microwave bowl and add 2 tsp oil,onion pieces and 1/2 cup uraddal.Mix this well and M/W this On High for 3 mins.Take the bowl out.
2.Grind it with garlic, ginger,salt 150 ml water,peppercorns,grated coconut and tamarind paste.Grind it well for 2 - 3 mins
3.In another bowl,add 2 tsp oil with 1/2 tsp mustard seeds and few curry leaves.Microwave this in high for 2 mins.Take the bowl out.
4.Add it to the ground chutney of step 2 and mix this well..
5.Serve this Thick Uraddal chutney with Idli,dosa,chapati, etc, Indian Breads and Variety Rices like Lemon Rice,Tamarind Rice,Coconut Rice,Pongal etc
