This recipe serves an excellent teatime snack that ur family will ask for it more.It is mild-spiced and adjust the spices as per taste.Can be done in 30-35 mins time with 20 mins baking time and will get 12 - 15 nos depending on the size of the cookies.U can try this recipe with wheat flour .Try this recipe at home and enjoy ur Snack time.BonAppetit!,
Masala Biscuits(Khara Biscuits)
Ingredients:
1 cup All purpose flour
5 tbsp Clarified butter
1/4 tsp Chilli powder
1/6 tsp garlic paste
1/2 tsp Jeera
1/3 tsp garam masala powder
a pinch of maze powder
1 sprig Curry leaves, finely chopped
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1 or 2 tsp Sugar
1/5 tsp salt - to taste
2 tbsp curd -optional
Method:
1.Preheat the oven to 350F.
2.Sift the four and mix all the ingredients together in a bowl to a soft and smooth dough.If needed add 2 tbsp curd in the process.
3.Grease an aluminium foil and spread the dough into 1/3 cm thickness chapati.Cut into square or round shaped pieces using cookie cutter.
4. Arrange it on a greased baking tray leaving equal space and bake for about 18 mins or till done.
5.Allow it to cool for 10 mins and serve with Tea/Coffee or anytime.
U can do it Using Microwave Oven:
Microwave it on high for 3 mins and on medium-high for 3-4 more mins.But the Cookies won't be as soft as the Electric Oven done.
