Chilli-Idli Fry

This Indo -Chinese fusion of Chilli Idly is done with adding chilli-garam masala powders,ginger-garlic paste and curry leaves-this add nice Indian flavour to this dish.U need to add 2 tbsp corn flour while shallow-frying otherwise the  fried idli-pieces can become soggy.This recipe can be done with left over thinly-sliced Chapatis or oil roasted thin-sliced bread pieces in which the result is even better in taste.This easy snackneeds 12 - 15 mins for preparation.Enjoy ur tea-time!.

Idli Fry - Left-over Idli pieces fried in Indo -Chinee style with spices

Ingredients:

    2 Left over idlis (each cut into 8 pieces)
    1/2 tsp Chilli Powder
    1 sliced onion(optional - but gives nice flavor to the dish)
    1/4 tsp garam masala
    2 tbsp soy sauce
    2 tsp green chilli sauce
    5 whole red chillies
    chopped curry leaves - few
    chopped coriander leaves - few
    10 capsicum(green or red) thin slices(small)
    1/2 tsp fresh ginger-garlic paste
    1/4 salt - to taste
    1 tbsp spring onion - chopped
    2 tbsp corn flour
    2 tbsp refined oil

Directions

    1.Dissolve cornflour + chilli powder|+ salt in 3 tbsp water.Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry idli pieces after rolling it in cornflour mix and keep the fried idli pieces aside.
    2.Now heat the remaining oil,add mustard seeds,curry leaves,red chillies and chopped onion and saute for a min.
    3.Add red and green capsicum slices,chopped coriander leaves,garam masala,salt,ginger-garlic paste and grated coconut one by one and saute well.
    4.Soya sauce and green chilli sauce and stir-fry for a min or more.Then add the fried idli pieces and the chopped spring onions and mix well.
    5.Serve this hot and enjoy ur tea time .
