Ezy Palak Paneer (a quick variation)

It is a North-Indian delicacy with excellent blend of mashed and curried palak with fried paneer.This can be served as an accompaniment to meals(rice dishes) or can be relished as main dish with Indian breads.Needs 20 mins cooking time and serves 4.

Ezy Palak Paneer (a quick variation) - Curried spinach in a cream blended sauce with paneer



Ingredients:

1 1/2 cup mashed palak paste(stir fry with 1 cup water,1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp jeera+5 pepper
corns till water runs dry and mash)
12 paneer cubes-shallowfried in 2 tsp ghee
1 onion-pasted
3 tbsp tomato puree
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp green chilli paste
3/4 tsp garam masala
2 tsp (5 cashewnuts + 1 tsp poppy seeds) ground paste
3 tbsp low fat fresh cream
1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
1 tsp corn flour pasted in 2 tbsp warm water
2 tsp butter
1 tsp salt
200ml water

Directions:

1.Heat butter and saute onion paste,tomato puree,ginger-garlic paste and green chilli paste till done.
2.Add mashed palak and shallow-fried paneer,cashewnut paste,nutmeg powder,needed salt and garam masala.Cook adding 200 ml water for 10 mins.
3.Add corn flour paste and stir the gravy for 2-3 more mins on good flame and turn off the flame.
4.Add fresh cream on top while serving.
