Banana Flower Pakora and Fritters

Banana Flower has been said as a healthy Veggie.Its Cheap and  U can do varieties with it - if U buy one Flower. Usually, Banana Flower is used in doing Thoran or Stir-fry,Vada, Paruppu Usili , Pachadi etc... U can do Pakora or Fritters with the inner florets(which are small n thin). Try this Easy snacks for Tea-time and Enjoy!

Banana Flower Pakora or Pakoda
Ingredients:
50 gms  Banana Florets
1 cup Besanflour or Aachi Bajji/Bonda Mix
2 tsp rice flour- powder
1/6 tsp Asafoetida
1/2 garlic - crushed
1/4 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp chopped coriander leaves
3 curry leaves - chopped
1/4  tsp Salt
2 tsp butter
200 ml refined oil

Directions:
    1.Mix Aachi bonda/bajji mix with rice flour,pressed garlic cloves or paste,Butter,salt,chilli powder,curry
and coriander leaves and water. Mix well so that no lumps should form. The batter should be thick .
    2.Add the crushed Noodles to the gramflour mix and Mix well.
    3.Arrange the gramflour batter in shapeless pieces on a tray.
    4. Heat 200 ml oil in a non-stick Kadai, and deep fry the batter till done golden brown on the sides.
    5.Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or coconut chutney.

For Sweet/Plain Fritters:
Ingredients
100 gms  banana florets - cleaned
1 cup Refined flour
1 tsp corn flour or 2 tsp besan flour(Kadalai Maavu)
needed salt
1/4 cup bread crumbs
2 tsp sugar or a pinch of red chilli powder - if needed

Directions.
1.Do a thick batter with the Ingredients. Dip a 2-3 banana florets in the batter and roll it in bread crumbs and deep-fry till golden brown n done.

I've heard banana flower is edible. I wonder it has any banana taste in it? The fritters look nice. :DD
