Chicken Tikka in Orange Sauce

Traditional Chicken Tikka must be the only Indian dish(Punjab) that got popularized by the British all over the World. It has been enjoyed as a snack or short-meal or a starter or a taste-match in Indian homes.This succulent Chicken Tikka is done by a selective-spices mixed with Orange Sauce to bring alive the delightful taste more memorable. It is traditionally grilled with skewers after marinating in spices and yogurt. Grilling the chicken definetely flavors this dish but if you do not have a grill,you could use M/W oven too. Generally, Chicken tikka masala is done as a two step process as Tikka and Gravy. Here, it is done as Tikka and Orange Sauce.Once you have started marinating the chicken, you can start preparing the Orange Sauce. Enjoy this wonderful Orange Sauce added Chicken Tikka at home. Chicken Tikka in Orange Sauce - Taste the difference
Ingredients:
1 Chicken breast piece (boneless) of 150 gms

Marinade for Tikka:
    1 tbsp Orange sauce or honey
    1 tbsp. Yoghurt
    3/4 tsp red chili powder or chicken tikka masala spice
    1/2 tsp Garlic paste
    1/2 tbsp Ginger paste
    1/4 tsp Cumin Powder
    1/2 tsp Curry masala (Garam Masala)
    a pinch of Black salt
    a pinch of Chat masala
    1 tsp lemon juice
    Salt to taste
    1 tbsp butter
For the Orange Sauce:
    1 cup fresh orange juice
    1 big garlic clove -pressed
    2 tbsp onion paste of 3-4 small sambar onions
    1 tsp white pepper powder
    1/2 tsp lemon juice
    1 tsp corn flour dissolved in 2 tbsp
    1 tsp sugar
    a pinch of salt

Directions:
    1.Make thin slit on the chicken without cutting into pieces.Drain water.
    2.Mix all ingredients for the marinade except orange juice, lemon juice and butter and add chicken into it.
Set aside for at least for 1/2 an hour.
    3.In the meantime prepare the Orange Sauce.Heat oil and add the pressed garlic,onion paste and saute it till done.Add the lemon juice,orange juice,pepper powder and sugar.When the mixture comes to boil,add the dissolved corn flour mixed.Turn off the flame when the sauce starts to thicken.
    4.Take the marinated Chicken and rub it with 2 tsp orange sauce or honey.
    5.Thread this chicken tikka piece into skewers.Barbecue over a hot charcoal or in grill oven. Grill chicken on hot grill (barbecue) to golden brown. Brush butter (or oil) frequently to ensure that chicken remains tender and moist. Do not overcook.
    6.Rub a tsp of orange sauce over the Chicken tikka or lemon juice or honey when done. Serve it hot with Orange Sauce, yoghurt Mint chutney,lemon wedges and sliced onions.
Note:
U can Bake at 350F approximately 22 minutes or till done (or) pre-heat the M/W Oven Grill for 10 mins and grill the first side for 10 mins and the otherside for 8 mins after brushing butter.
