Coleslaw

The term 'coleslaw' used in the 20th century as an Anglicisation of the Dutch term 'koolsla' - a short term for 'koolsalade' meaning 'cabbage salad'.Other variants of coleslaw, cheese savoury, which includes cheese, onion uses salad cream instead of mayonnaise,is a popular in the northeast of England.Another variant, broccoli slaw, uses shredded raw broccoli in place of the cabbage.Broccoli slaw is a variation of traditional coleslaw with shredded raw broccoli stalks substituted for cabbage and also contains mayonnaise, carrots, vinegar or lemon juice, sugar, salt and pepper. It is commonly served at potlucks or 'covered dish' parties. It is also called broccoli cole slaw or broccoli slaw salad. This simple Coleslaw recipe is given here to try at home.U can have it as salad with green onion, mayo + mustard sauce with white pepper powder.U can use it as a Sandwich filling.I used a 30 seconds M/Wave cooking in the process to make the shredded cabbage more succulent to make it taste good.If u reduce the amt of Mayo added to it,it can become a healthy intake as shredded cabbage and carrot is good for health.

Ingredients:

2 cups finely Shredded Cabbage
2 tbsp grated carrot
3 tbsp Mayonnaise
1 tbsp fresh cream or banana cream or sweetened cream (optional)
2 tsp sugar

Directions:
1.Mix Mayonnaise, fresh cream and sugar well.
2.Microwave Shredded Cabbage and Carrot in a Microwave-safe bowl for 20 - 30 secs.Take it out.
3.Add the Mayonnaise mixture and serve it with any starters.

Note:
U can refrigerate and serve it chilled .It can stand for upto 10 hours.

I'm submitting this recipe post to 100 Day Global Food Festival Event hosted by  Sizzling Tastebuds.
