Chocolate Doughnuts

Delicious and lip-smackingly good Doughnut(donut is a fried dough food) can easily be tried at home. Try this recipe of Choco Doughnuts at home - with various toppings with Chocolate glaze,castor sugar,coloured balls, choco strands, Jam, Custard, white chocolate glazing,sweetened peanut butter, instant coffee powder,crushed peanuts or almond flakes or nuts, Dates syrup, honeysyrup,roasted white sesame seeds, sweetened tomato ketchup,dessicated coconut mixed with 2 tsp powdered sugar etc... This easy to make snack can be said as the Sweeter Refined flour Vada. Shortening is any fat that is solid at room temperature and used to make crumbly pastry eg.Dalda or U can use butter. Try this recipe at home and Enjoy ur Meal!. BonAppetit!.

Choco Donuts:
Directions
1 cup Refined flour
1 tsp baking powder
30 gms powdered sugar
1 egg - beaten well
50 ml cold milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
40 gms - shortening
1/6 tsp salt
300 ml refined oil mixed with 2 tsp ghee for deep-frying
For the Choco glazing:
30 gms semi-sweet chocolate melted with 1 tsp butter and 2 tsp sugar(optional) using a milk boiler
Toppings
1 tsp crushed nuts
1 tsp castor sugar
1 tsp coloured balls
1 tsp choco strands
Directions:
1.Sift flour and baking powder together 2-3 times.
2.Add fat or dalada or butter and make a crumbly pastry.
3.Mix milk,powdered sugar and flavoring agent(vanilla extract). Mix with the beaten egg mixture and add it to the dough.
4.Add salt and knead into a smooth dough.
5.Knead lightly and divide into 6 equal portions.Cut into round Vada shaped doughnuts.
6.Heat oil with 2 tsp ghee and deep-fry the doughnuts till done golden brown.
7.Prepare the choco glazing using semi-sweet chocolate melted with 1 tsp butter and 2 tsp sugar(optional) using a milk boiler.
8.Brush it over the doughnuts and sprinkle castor sugar, nuts, coloured balls and choco strands over it and serve it with Tea/ Coffee or anytime.
