Chicken Kofta Curry

This  recipe serves an yumm Chicken Kofta Curry that goes with fried rice,Bread and Indian Breads.This Gravy is mildly-spiced and rich in taste.U need  40 mins cooking time if U use Grilled Chicken Kofta or 30 mins otherwise.Serves 4 nos. Can try this gravy with ready-made chicken meat balls to save time.Try this at home. Enjoy Creamy Chicken kofta Curry anytime. Enjoy Easy cooking at home!. Enjoy ur Meal!. BonAppetit!.

Chicken Kofta Curry:
Ingredients:
For the Gravy:
1 small-sized onion - pasted fine
1 small-sized tomato - pasted fine
1 tbsp cream
50 ml low fat milk
2 tsp cashewnut(5 nos pasted with 1 tsp soaked poppy seeds) paste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp sugar
1/5 tsp grated ginger
a pinch of nutmeg powder
a pinch of  turmeric powder
1/5 tsp garlic -pressed
1/2 cm cinnamon stick
1 clove
1 cardamom
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp salt to taste
2 tsp refined oil + 1 tsp olive oil or ghee

For the Chicken Kofta:
50 gms minced chicken
1 tsp white pepper powder
1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
3 tbsp finely powdered bread crumbs
a pinch of garam masala
1 beaten egg or 2 tsp thickly dissolved cornflour
1/5 tsp salt to taste
2 tbsp refined oil - for shallow frying
Directions For the Chicken Koftas:
1.Pulse the minced chicken with bread crumbs,white pepper powder,ginger-garlic paste,garam masala and salt with out adding water.
2.Shape the pulsed mixture into balls.
3.Dip it in thickly dissolved cornflour or beaten egg and shallow fry the koftas.(or for oil-free koftas,can grill it in OTG by pre-heating the oven to 220 C and grill the koftas for 20 mins.)Keep this aside in a casserole. Prepare the Gravy.
Directions for the Gravy:
1.Heat oil + olive oil or ghee and fry the cinnamon,bayleaf, cardamom, nutmeg powder and clove together.
2.Add the onion paste and ginger-garlic paste and stir-cook for 3-4 mins.
3.Add the tomato paste and stir-cook it for 3 mins chilli powder,turmeric powder,garam masala and salt.
4.Add 1 cup water and the koftas and simmer it for 5-6 mins.
5.Add the milk,cashewnut paste  and sugar and stir it well for 3 mins.
6.Finally add the cream and mix it for 20 secs and turn off the flame.
7.Garnish with chopped coriander and Serve hot with naan or parota or Fried Rice.
