Turmeric Rice - (Yellow Rice)

This can be done in 7 mins with left-over rice and tastes so good.This is done with no Veg/N.Veg added but u can add 2 scrambled  eggs or 2 oil-roasted and cut-fine sausages or 1 cup pomegranate seeds or  black seedless grapes or 1 cup sliced capsicum or chopped fine oil-roasted Mushroom, peanuts,finely-chopped cucumber or grated carrots(optional) or oil-sauteed spinach to add more colour and taste to the Rice.Do not add more than 1tsp lemon juice.Try this at home and Enjoy E(La)zy Cooking!.Enjoy Ur Meal!.BonAppetit!.

Turmeric(Yellow) Rice - Plain Rice cooked with turmeric powder and spices



Ingredients:

    3 cups plain(cooked) rice or left over rice
    1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp mustard seeds
    1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste - optional
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    2 chopped green chillies
    1 sprig curry leaves
    1 Onion sliced fine
    2 tsp chopped coriander leaves
    1 tsp lemon juice - optional
    1 tsp pure coconut oil
    1 tsp ghee
    1 cup Veg/Scrambled Eggs or peeled peanuts - optional

Directions

   1. Heat oil and ghee in  a non-stick tawa add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,sliced onions,ginger-garlic paste, curry leaves and chopped chillies.
   2. Saute them for a min and add salt,turmeric powder,lemon juice and the cooked plain rice.(U can
    add cucumber /carrot /Scrambled Eggs/Peeled Peanuts now but it is optional).
   3.Mix them well and saute it for 3 mins atleast.
   4.Add chopped coriander leaves now and mix well.Turn off the flame.
    5.Serve this rice hot with cucumber-onion raita.

I never knew about turmeric rice. It looks packed on with flavors. Like they say turmeric is a very medicinal plant. That is a very healthy dish. Will try it soon.
