Sesame Chutney

This Very tasty Chutney can be done in few mins - when u have no grated coconut or other options left to prepare chutney for Idli and Dosa.This will taste like tomato-Onion Chutney and try this once to taste it truly good.This serves 3-4 nos.Enjoy ur Breakfast or Dinner with this Chutney.

Sesame Chutney -Chutney done with White Sesame Seeds

Ingredients

40 gms white sesame seeds
2 tbsp skinless Urad dhal
a gooseberry size tamarind
2-3 red chillies
1 garlic pearl + 1 sambar onion
3 sambar onions - chopped fine
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
2 tsp refined oil
few curryleaves
few coriander leaves -for garnishing

Directions:

1.Dry roast white sesame seeds and uraddhal for a min or 2 in low flame till nice smell start to rise and turn off the flame before it begins to change colour.
2.Allow it to cool for sometime before and grind it with tamarind,redchillies,garlic pearl,one sambar onion and salt.
3.Heat oil in a frying pan.Splutter mustard seeds.
4.Add chopped onions,fry till little brown with curry leaves.
5.Add this seasoning to the ground chutney.
6.Serve this with Idli or Dosa.

I really used to love this when my friends brought it in the tiffin from their houses in school and college days.
