Brinjal 65 or Arvi 65 or Raw Banana 65 or Yam 65

Yesterday I posted Potato 65 recipe and told that many Vegs like Brinjal,Yam,Colacasia and Raw Banana, can also be done like Chicken 65,a popular sidedish or starter in South India. In continuation of that recipe, U will be seeing few more Veg 65 variations done shallow or deep-fried in oil or using M/W or in Grill Mode. Try this recipe at home and enjoy Ur Meal!. BonAppetit!.

1.Shallow or Deep-fried
Brinjal 65 or Arvi(Chepangkizhangu) 65 or Raw Banana 65 or Yam 65
Ingredients:
100 gms  Brinjal or Arvi(half-boiled) or Yam or 1 Raw Banana - Peeled except brinjal
1 1/4 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ginger powder
a pinch of cinnamon powder - optional
a pinch of clove powder - optional
a pinch of food colour - optional
1 tsp yogurt or 1/2 tsp lemon juice
50 ml or 250 ml refined oil for deep-frying
Directions:
1.Clean the Vegs or root Vegs and chop them into required shape and size.
2.Mix the Spices and food colour(optional) with Yogurt or lemon juice. Apply it on the Veggie pieces and marinate for 15 mins .
3.Heat 50 ml or 250 ml oil in a flat-bottomed pan and shallow-fry or deep-fry the marinated pieces till it gets done lightly-brown  on the sides.
4.Serve it with Veg Salad or lemon-wedges or ketchup.

2.Using Microwave Oven
Brinjal 65 or Arvi(Chepangkizhangu) 65 or Raw Banana 65 or Yam 65
Ingredients:
100 gms  Brinjal or Arvi(half-boiled) or Yam or 1 Raw Banana - Peeled except Brinjal
1 1/4 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ginger powder
a pinch of cinnamon powder - optional
a pinch of clove powder - optional
a pinch of food colour - optional
1 tsp yogurt or 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 or 2 tbsp refined oil
Directions:
1.Clean the Veggies and chop them into wedges or round pieces.
2.Mix the Spices and food colour(optional) with yogurt or lemon juice. Apply it on the Vegetables and marinate for 10 mins .
3.Apply oil over them and Microwave this on high for 3 mins using a microwave-safe  bowl.Take the bowl out mix it well with 1 tsp oil and Microwave it for 2 more mins.
4.Repeat this procedure of applying oil and microwaving on high for a min for 3 or 4 times till it gets done lightly-brown  on the sides.(Cooking time depends on the size of the wedges,quantity and then the size of the Oven). 100 gms Brinjal wedges can be done in 8 - 10 mins using M/W.
5.Serve it with Veg Salad or lemon-wedges or ketchup.

3. Using OTG Grill:
Brinjal 65 or Arvi(Chepangkizhangu) 65 or Raw Banana 65 or Yam 65
Ingredients:
100 gms  Brinjal or Arvi(half-boiled) or Yam or 1 Raw Banana - Peeled except Brinjal
1 1/4 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ginger powder
a pinch of cinnamon powder - optional
a pinch of clove powder - optional
a pinch of food colour - optional
1 tsp yogurt or 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp refined oil
Directions:
1.Clean the Veggies and chop them into wedges or round pieces.
2.Mix the Spices and food colour(optional) with yogurt or lemon juice. Apply it on the Vegetables and marinate for 10 mins .Apply oil over them.
3.Preheat the Oven to 160 Deg C.
4.Arrange themarrinated Veg Pieces on the Grill Grill them for 12 mins ,then apply oil and roll it over so that the other side gets done for 8-10 mins.  That's All!.
5.Serve it with Veg Salad or lemon-wedges or ketchup.

Veggies 65 looks delicious n well explained dear. Never thought of making Yam, plantain banana and all those wonderful 65 .-)

Have been thinking of you from couple of days since I was not getting any updates from your blog. But was so busy with lot of personal stuffs going on that it kept on lagging to reach out to your space and check. I came here now and the header said it all about the reason for the silence from ur blog. anyways I'm glad to follow u again :-)
