Aloo Methi

Aloo Methi or Methi Aloo is given as Healthy Recipe of the Day. This dish is said to have come from Maharashtra This Combo tastes terrific when done and needs simple ingredients n less cooking time. This dish is done dry or semi-dry mostly and best served with variety rices or Indian Breads or Bread slices. Needs 12 to 15 mins cooking time and serves 4 nos. Enjoy Easy n Healthy Cooking at home!. Aloo Methi - Potato done with fresh Methi leaves and selective spices

Ingredients:
2-3 medium sized potatoes - peeled n cubed
1 bunch  fresh methi leaves - cleaned n chopped fine
1 garlic - pressed fine
1/5 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp salt or needed
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp jeera
few coriander leaves
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
2 tsp refined oil
Directions:
1.Heat oil in a non-stick kadai,splutter mustard seeds,jeera, pressed garlic and add the potato cubes. Saute this well for 2 mins.
2.Add chilli powder,turmeric powder and salt .Saute it for a min and add 50 ml water and allow it to cook (covered)  for 5 mins on low flame till half done.
3.Add chopped methi leaves,mix it well for a min.Add 50 ml water and allow it to cook for 5-6 mins till water runs dry and done. Check for salt and doneness.
4.Serve it hot with variety rices or Indian Breads or bread slices.

Yummy.....Its my favourite...and I prepare atleast once in a week...very easy to cook and very healthy...Even you can try methi prantha also.
