It is an aromatic Payasam (Milk Dessert) that can be served for ur Family or Guests in minimum span of time.Payasam is an ideal Milky Dessert substitute for the North Indian Rice Milk Dessert ' Kheer'.This can be done with Rice,wheat granules,Rice flakes,Sago pearls, Vermicelli,Pasta,Oats flakes,Wheat flakes, Semolina, Adai pradhaman,Lentils like Turdal,Gram dhal,Uraddal, Yellow Moongdal,Green Moongdal,Sesame seeds,Cucumber seeds,Bread pieces,fruits and grated veg of ur choice.This Noodles Payasam can be done in 7 mins Cooking time and this serves 4 nos.Otherwise,U can do it by pulsing twice the crushed Noodles.This minimizes the cooking time and maximizes the taste and texture of this Milk Dessert.Make sure that the noodles shd not get over-done if made with un-crushed noodles. .Saffron strands or Grated almonds or pista (soaked-but an optional)- 2 tbsp can also be added in step:3 to add richness and taste to the Dessert.Enjoy Ur Teatime!.Bon Appetit!.
Noodles Payasam - an aromatic Payasam (Milk Dessert) done with Noodles - either crushed or pulsed or as such
Ingredients
100 gm Noodles -crushed
500ml Boiled low-fat milk
2 tbsp condensed milk -optional
150 gms sugar
2 tbsp crushed cashewnuts and raisins
1 tbsp ghee
a drop of vanilla essence- optional
2 tbsp grated almonds- soaked(optional)
1 tbsp crushed pista
few saffron strands
200ml water
Directions
1.Heat ghee and roast the crushed cashewnuts and raisins.Take this out and keep it aside.
2.Take 200 ml water in a sauce pan and add the Noodles when water begins to boil.Mix it well and add 100 gm low fat milk and stir-cook for 2-3 mins.
3.Dissolve sugar in 400 ml boiled Milk and add it to the Noodles pan and Stir-cook it for 3 more mins on good flame.
4.Add Condensed milk,Vanilla essence or Cardamom Essence(optional) and grated almonds-soaked and crushed pista,roasted cashewnuts and raisins one by one.Stir it for a min more on good flame.
5.Turn off the flame after 7 mins.
5.Pour this into 4 Dessert Bowls and Top it with few Saffron Strands.
6.Serve it hot to the unexpected guests and chilled to the expected guests.That's all!.
