Spicy Fish Cutlet

To save time u can try this recipe with tinned Tuna 1-2 nos(draining the oil completely).Otherwise another easy option is to do this cutlet as an evening snack when u prepare fish kuzhambu for lunch anyday(just take 4-5 good fish pieces,remove the skin,debone them and shredd them).This cutlets Can be taken alone as an evening snack or with rice ,sambar rice and curd rice with a meal.Bon Appetit!. Spicy Fish Cutlet - Spicy and Mouthwatering Cutlets

Ingredients:

any good shredded fish - 2 cups(boiled in water with turmeric powder- 1 tsp and salt - 1 tsp. then
deboned and shredded into thin pieces) or any tinned fish - 1-2 small can
big potato - 1 (boiled and mashed)
green chillies - 2 no.s
ginger - 1 inch size(peeled)
garlic - 3-4 cloves (peeled)
green cardamom - 2 no.s
cinnamon sticks -1/2 inch size
cloves - 2 no.s
salt - 1 tsp
garam masala - 1/2 tsp
turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
saunf powder - 1/2 tsp
Aachi mutton masala - 1 tsp
1 tbsp corn starch
finely chopped onions - 1 no - optional
finely chopped coriander leaves - 1 1/2 handful
finely chopped mint leaves - 1 handful
egg - 2 no(beaten well with salt - 1/4 tsp )
fresh bread crumbs - 2 cups(toast 4-5 bread slices in a pop-up toaster few secs more and powder it in a mixer Grinder)
refined oil -200ml or 100ml for deep or shallowfrying respectively

Directions

1.Grind green chillies,ginger piece , garlic ,cinnamon stick,clove and cairdamom nto a paste.
2.In a frying pan, heat 2 tbsp. of oil and saute cho, , grpped onions till the onion is golden brown.
3.Add coriander and mint leaves and green chillies-ginger paste.saute till oil separates from the mixture.
4.Add mashed potato next , turmeric powder and salt . mix well.
5.Add boiled and shredded fish,mutton masala,garam masala,saunf powder and corn starch.saute till the
mixture becomes thick so that it evenly spread like dough.Remove from fire.Let it cool for 15 mins. Form into desired shape pieces using moulds.
6.Dip the shaped doughs in beaten egg and then roll them in breadcrumbs.
7.Heat the oil in a frying pan and shallow fry until golden brown on both sides.
8.Serve hot with tomato ketchup, onions rings and garnish with coriander leaves.
