M/W Oven cooking is an easier to do Cooking compared to other(if u begin trying recipes using M/W.Oven, u will hate to cook with gas) and many don't realize that. I learned it few years back when I happened to cook without gas cylinders for a week. This recipe tasted so good that I thought to share it with u all.This Potato-Greenpeas Masala is an easy and tasty side-dish - which needs 10 mins microwave cooking-time only.This side-dish is the best combination for rice with sambar or Curd Rice or rasam or chapati. Potato-Greenpeas Masala ( a Microwave recipe) - Potato pieces and Greenpeas cooked with masala
Ingredients:
2 chopped Potatoes(Peel before chopping them)
1 cup fresh greenpeas
1 finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped tomato
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp garam or curry masala or Aachi mutton masala
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp white sesame seeds-this adds fine flavour to the fry
1 tsp or salt to taste
few curry leaves
few coriander leaves
1 cup water
1 tbsp refined oil
Directions:
1.Take a microwave bowl, mix all the ingredients with 1 cup water and Microwave(on high) this mixture for 9 mins.
2.Serve this Potato-Greenpeas Masala hot with rice and sambar or rasam or Curd Rice or chapati.
Tips:
1.Check ur M/W manual timings.This may vary with models and the quantity of ingredients we use.
2.Potato lovers, please try this recipe. It tastes so good.U can use 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder or maze powder instead of mutton masala.Even u can try this recipe with seasoning or tempering first (M/W on high for 2 mins)with oil,onion,mustard seeds,sesame seeds, curry leaves,cumin seeds and add the other ingredients and microwave on high for 9 mins with water.If u want the potatoes to be tender,just add 1/4 cup water again.Microwave on medium for 5 mins.
